Queen's University Belfast was rated 1st in the UK for international students' overall learning experience by the International Student Barometer 2015.

Its location is a mix of modern design with historical architecture. It's the 9th oldest university in the UK but has one of the most modern campuses. They understand the teaching style might be a bit different to what you're used to. That's ok, they will help you adapt to things in the UK. Facilities designed for you

Queen's University Belfast is committed to enhancing the international student experience for you. Over the past 10 years, the University has invested over £350 million in campus facilities. Which means you'll study at one of the most modern campuses in the UK.

The INTO Queen's Centre has been designed for you. Located in the heart of campus, it's just a short walk from everything you'll need. It's your safe haven, with support available 24 hours a day.

There are great facilities there to make your learning fun. You can photocopy, print and scan at the Learning Resource Centre. You'll also find subject textbooks, computers and language dictionaries. You can also load money on your student card which can be used for buying food from the food suppliers on campus.

If you need a quiet place to study, you'll find calm, comfortable study spaces in the Centre, with Wi-Fi throughout. When you need to take a break, you can grab a coffee and a snack at the Centre cafe.

The student services team are there to help you whenever you need them. They'll help you settle into your new life in Belfast. Whether you're opening a bank account or planning a trip somewhere, they'll be there to help.

Your experience on campus

Queen's has invested over £350 million over the past 10 years to improve the experience of their international students. They want your university experience to be the very best.

The McClay Library is open 24 hours a day and contains over 1.2 million books and journals, as well as 2,200 study spaces.

When you want to relax, you can head to the Student Union building, which contains a relax and study area called 'The Space'. You'll also find a bank, coffee shops, a food court and meeting rooms there, so you have everything you need at your fingertips.

The Union also hosts over 170 clubs and societies. You'll be able to join as many of them as you like. From origami to trampolining, you're sure to find one that's perfect for you. Love Sports? Choose from over 50 different sports clubs to join and you'll never be short of friends to play with.

Classrooms in the Centre

You'll learn in modern classrooms, some of which are equipped with interactive whiteboards and flat-screen televisions. Everything has been designed with you in mind, to give you the best experience.

Need a quiet space to read? Or a table for your group to brainstorm over? Come to the Centre. You’ll find study spaces and Wi-Fi throughout the Centre, so you can work wherever suits you best.


Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre has books and study materials to get you started. Whether you need to type up your notes, photocopy from a book or print off your essay, you can do it all here.

Plus, as an INTO Queen's student, you will also have full access to study materials at the award-winning McClay library at Queen's, in addition to the reading materials in the Learning Resource Centre.


Studying outside the classroom

Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to Queen’s Online (QOL), the University’s virtual learning environment. You’ll be able to access lecture notes and course content from any computer. You can also discuss topics with your tutors and classmates.

The McClay library has over 1.2 million books and journals for you to choose from. You’ll also find quiet spaces and study rooms providing late-night computer access. Need help connecting to the Wi-Fi? No problem, the IT Service Desk will be happy to help.


Refuel at the Centre Café

Hungry? Thirsty? Take a break at Café Carberry. This little café sits in the INTO Centre, so you’re never far from a snack break. It’s a great place to relax with friends over lunch or study solo with a coffee. You can buy sandwiches, soups, pastries and hot or cold drinks. Have a special diet? No problem, vegetarian, vegan and halal options are available.
