North-Caucasus Federal University is the most high-profile higher education institution located in the South of Russia, Stavropol region. North-Caucasus Federal University has 2 branches – in Pyatigorsk and Nevinnomyssk – and 9 institutes: Institute of Humanities, Institute of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institute of Life Sciences, Institute of Law, Institute of Economics and Management, Institute of Education and Social Sciences, Institute of Oil and Gas, Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, and Institute of Engineering.
Research activity in NCFU is carried out in 29 scientific-educational centers, 33 scientific laboratories, and 2 student design bureaus, 26 scientific schools, and 47 scientific areas. The University employs 1626 teachers, including 229 doctors and 1090 candidates of sciences. There are near 25 thousand people representing 86 nationalities and ethnic groups from 81 regions of Russia including 1656 international students from 56 countries.
The scientific library of North-Caucasus Federal University is rated among the best and largest university libraries in Russia with more than 2.5 million units. The Library provides access to numerous educational resources and holds subscriptions to both Russian and foreign periodicals. The Library is replenished with up-to-date educational and scientific literature every year. The university catalog regularly updated. Every NCFU student has full access to all the library resources.
NCFU creates the best conditions for students for a production process of obtaining knowledge with ensuring comfortable accommodation at the forefront. There are 8 dormitories in Stavropol and one extra in Pyatigorsk providing housing for over 2,500 students. One of the newest dorms was built specifically for international students.
The University medical center fitted with the newest equipment to monitor the health of NCFU staff and students. A team of specialists comprising optometrist, neurologist, general physician, dentist, otolaryngologist, and emergency doctors is on hand to provide medical care and support.
Providing high-quality catering service is one of the priorities at NCFU with modern kitchen equipment and the team of highly professional chefs. The university’s canteens, snack bars, and cafes keep hunger at bay while students are on the path of knowledge. Each building is equipped with a dining room and a buffet.
The creative studios which NCFU student are engaged in include 2 vocal studios, 6 dance teams, 2 student theatres, 4 volunteer groups, 12 KVN (comedy) clubs. The selection of sports activities is also extensive: 14 sports clubs, 10 sports halls, gym rooms, fitness centers, and swimming pool.
