Atlas Language School

Introduction

Atlas Language School – Dublin

Atlas Language School was founded in 2003. Although we started with only one classroom and one student we expanded quickly to become one of the fastest growing language schools in Ireland. Today we are located in Portobello House, a beautiful landmark building in the heart of Dublin. Our new school is a state-of-the-art facility with 25 classrooms, a student cafe/restaurant, library, meditation room, computer lab, and large student recreational area. We welcome students from all around the world on a wide range of courses including General English, Exam Preparation, Junior programme, and Teacher Training courses. We believe our success to date is due to our commitment to quality and we are dedicated to providing a professional, friendly and supportive learning environment. With excellent teachers and facilities, a comprehensive and fun social programme and a perfect central location, we believe we are the best school to learn English in Dublin.

Teaching Method

Our teaching is based on a communicative and task-based approach, which means students always focus on effective real-life communication and ways of practising and achieving it. In class, students work on developing their productive and receptive skills while also increasing their accuracy and fluency. We have developed a Language Learning Pathway to provide all learners with a clear description of the objectives for each of our levels. Whether students are with us for 2 weeks,b 8 weeks or a year we’ll help them design a clear learning strategy based on their individual goals.

Social & Cultural Activities

We believe that in order to get the most from their time in Ireland students should be exposed to English not just in the classroom but in a variety of environments and contexts. That’s why our social and cultural programme is so important to us and why we spend so much time and energy making sure that it is as varied, vibrant and interesting as possible. We have a dedicated social programme coordinator who organises activities, tours and visits throughout the year for our students. These activities are a scheduled part of almost all courses and normally occur after class in the afternoon and evening. We also organise day and weekend trips to scenic areas outside Dublin, such as Connemara, Clare and Galway.
