VCAD's Visual Effects Art & Design program focuses on providing graduates with a solid foundation in the technical and artistic skills needed to be successful in the visual effects, animation, and CGI industries. Key to this is a genuine understanding of storytelling, animation, modeling, compositing and a solid foundation in artistic techniques.

Students will learn colour theory, design fundamentals, life drawing, and industry standard software, and will apply this knowledge to the production and animation of 3D characters with appropriate lighting and texturing and visual effects. The Construction Electrician Foundations Program at Vancouver Career College is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as apprentice electricians with electrical contracting companies involved in residential electrical work. [+]

Qualified electricians are highly sought after and well-paid tradespeople. The Construction Electrician Foundations program at Vancouver Career College prepares you for an electrical apprentice position. The program combines training in classrooms, labs, and shops. Students learn the protocols and basic principles of electrical work, including installation and maintenance of electrical power, lighting, heating, and alarms. The curriculum also covers the fundamentals of electrical work, including math and physics, hand and power tool use, electromagnetism, equipment testing, electrical code, and interpreting sketches and drawings. Safety is also a major component of this program and students examine Workers’ Compensation Board and Safe Work Practices. After a practicum placement, graduates are qualified to enter the electrical field in an entry-level position.... [-]

Course: Carpenter Foundations

Vancouver Career College’s Carpenter Foundations program is designed to prepare students for positions on building sites and as apprentice carpenters with companies involved primarily in residential construction. Students receive hands-on training in classroom, lab and shop, learning the tools and practices used in the trade. They also gain practical experience in a 150-hour field study. Successful graduate will be prepared to write the standardized carpenter exam through the ITA and be eligible to pursue an apprenticeship in the carpentry profession.
