Social, cultural and orientation activities

The Foundation Course (FC) is a 2-semester study program that allows students with less than 12 years of schooling to fulfil the prerequisites for pursuing a bachelor’s program in LUM and any Italian University. In particular, it is aimed at students. The course is also intended for those who wish to improve their background and linguistic skills even if they have a minimum of 12 years of schooling.

To enrol on the LUM University’s Foundation Year, students need to follow the following simple steps:

Students must fill out the online application form by 25th August 2024. Please, attach:

Transcript of records of the last secondary school year

An original version of the secondary school leaving qualification (or a copy of the original version), officially translated into Italian, and Declaration of Value issued by the Italian authorities in the country of residence

Evidence of language competence in English at an intermediate level

Applicants will be informed by e-mail of the acceptance or refusal of their application. After paying 20% of the tuition fees (first instalment), candidates who have been accepted will receive a letter of admission and confirmation that a place for the 2023-24 academic year has been reserved for them

Admitted students holding their Admission Letter will be able to enrol on the FY Programme through the website By submitting a pre-enrolment request form

Admitted students holding their Admission Letter are requested to apply for a type D Visa (study purpose) at the Italian Embassy/Consulate in their home country. While waiting for their visa to be issued, prospective students will attend the online intensive course in Italian starting in November 2024. In case a visa for study purposes isn’t awarded leading to the termination from the Foundation Year programme, prospective students who will have attended the intensive course regularly and passed the corresponding exam will have to pay for the lessons taken

Students will be able to complete the enrollment procedure subject to authorization to proceed from the Internationalization Office of LUM University which will have verified the correct presentation of all the required documentation and the suitability of the candidates.

Admissions Option 2

The Foundation Course involves a total teaching commitment of 600 hours equal to 60 Foundation Course Credits. CFC credits are not university credits; therefore, it is not possible to request recognition for any course abbreviations.

Fundamentals of Business Management & Administration

Reach the mandatory minimum attendance of 85% in all scheduled courses which include an Italian course and six courses for each area of ​​study

Successfully pass the exams of all scheduled courses.

Curriculum

The overall cost of the Foundation Year program is €5,000.00 (five thousand/00), divided into two instalments:

The fee includes accident and civil liability insurance during the duration of the course, learning materials, tutoring, and access to LUM University services and facilities. The fee does not include the cost of travel, visa, accommodation, meals, books, health insurance, personal expenses and the cost of the language certification.

For Foundation Program students who decide to enrol in one of the LUM University study courses (undergraduate and single-cycle degree courses), the University provides an exemption of 3,000 euros on the last instalment of the final year for students graduating in progress.
