Executive Diploma in Sports Management

Course Objectives

The Diploma is aimed at training sports leaders or anyone connected with the administration of sports institutions or the world of sports in general, or the training of professionals from any field (lawyers, graduates in economics, administration, communication, finance or marketing, journalists or physical education teachers) to achieve their inclusion in the sports leadership or improve the levels of professional advice to sports institutions.

The course consists of 6 modules, all of them related in the sports area:

• Sports Law
• Administration of Institutions.
• Sports and Finance Sports.
• Marketing and Sports Sponsorship.
• Organization of Sports Events.
• Communication in Sport.

Requirements

• Copy of identity document.
• Curriculum vitae.
• Copy of title, being in possession of a degree, diploma or equivalent.
• Other exceptional situations will be analyzed individually.

• Virtual and physical access to the central library of the USMP, which has been rated as one of the best in the Peruvian university system.
• Thesis counseling from the second cycle, allowing the participant to choose and progressively develop their research topic to support their master's thesis.
• Virtual classroom complementary to your face-to-face studies, in which you will find digitized the study material developed in class.
• Computer laboratories very well implemented and special environments for working in groups.

International University Network fifa / cies

In order to highlight the original, high-quality research work and boost the FIFA / CIES International University Network, the International Center for Sports Studies annually awards a prize for the best team work carried out in the context of the FIFA Sports Management Program / CIES. The prize consists of a visit to the headquarters of CIES (Neuchâtel) and the headquarters of FIFA - Home of FIFA (Zurich).

Welcome Letter

The Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP) has signed an agreement with the CIES (International Center for Sports Studies), and with FIFA to develop activities in Peru to train sports leaders.

CIES is a prestigious institution based in the city of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and formed by the University of Neuchâtel, the canton and the city of the same name, as well as FIFA. Its main activity is the training of sports leaders, among other activities, the issuance of a Masters in Law, Management and Humanities in Sport that takes place annually in Switzerland, England and Italy.

CIES, interested in carrying out a Diploma in Peru for the training of sports leaders, has selected the USMP, the leading university institution in the integral formation of people.

This Diploma, through its contents and with an essentially dynamic and practical teaching method, will provide those who register, knowledge and skills development for a correct and effective management of sports institutions, so that decision making can be based on theoretical knowledge and practical experiences that guarantee excellent management.

Also, through the study of the different modules will be deepened the analysis in human aspects and ethical issues raised by the sports phenomenon, making compatible the development of it as a business and the comprehensive training of the athlete.

The USMP, a dynamic partner

It is a great honor and an immense pleasure for CIES to present the third edition of its Sports Management Diploma Program, in collaboration with the Universidad de San Martín de Porres , a dynamic partner.

For 20 years, our institute, which has the financial support of FIFA, has developed a large number of projects, whose objective is to better understand the multiple aspects of sport in general and football in particular.

The sporting phenomenon, currently presents a growing level of complexity that determines the need for sports institutions, companies linked to the world of sports and professionals who provide services have multidisciplinary tools for proper and effective management. In addition, at a time when sport is one of the great protagonists of society, it is essential to continue with our efforts so that it retains its capacity for seduction and its dignity. The sporting feats and their economic implications must maintain an irreproachable morality. The USMP / FIFA / CIES Sports Management Diploma responds to these objectives.

Our presence in Peru is part of the desire to offer future sports administrators of this country, and their neighboring countries, instruments of work in fields as varied as communication, law, finance, management, organization of sporting events , marketing and sponsorship. It is also necessary that these instruments adapt to local realities in order to preserve their effectiveness. This will be the role played by our enthusiastic partner, the Universidad de San Martín de Porres .
