Life in Philadelphia
The city of Philadelphia is an important part of the Temple Law experience. Philadelphia is the first UNESCO World Heritage City in the United States and was recently named one of the top cities to visit in the United States in 2020 by National Geographic. Students’ academic programs are enhanced daily by the cultural and intellectual life of this beautiful and vibrant city, and at a much more affordable living cost compared to other east coast cities.
The sixth largest city in the country, Philadelphia is home to state and federal courts at every level, countless law firms, large and small, dozens of municipal agencies, and hundreds of other legal employers. Temple Law students can easily commute to New York City and Washington DC because of Philadelphia’s convenient location between the two major cities.
Established in 1895, Temple Law is committed to excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship, and service. Temple Law is dedicated to preparing students to enter and continue in the legal profession with the highest level of skill possible, with a firm commitment to principles of professional responsibility, and with a sense of personal obligation to lead and to serve the communities in which they live and practice.
Temple Law upholds a foundational ideal of making legal education accessible to all talented individuals, including individuals who otherwise might not have that opportunity or who might encounter barriers because of race, creed, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, socioeconomic background, or other personal characteristics.
