Program Details
The Summer Research Program is an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students from all over the world who are interested in enhancing their academic profile with a rigorous and challenging academic experience at Israel’s oldest university and premier center for science, technology, and applied sciences.
Why Technion?
Technion, consistently ranked among the world’s top 50 academic institutions, is a major source of the innovation and brainpower that drives the Israeli economy. Technion graduates, who represent 70 percent of the high-tech workforce, established Israel’s industrial infrastructure, reinforced its technological defense capabilities, and pioneered its technology-based enterprises that have earned the country its reputation as the world’s “Startup Nation.”
Why Israel
Israel has the highest concentration of high-tech companies anywhere in the world outside Silicon Valley. Haifa is the third-largest city in the State of Israel after Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and it is known for having some of the best beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. Haifa is also home to MATAM, the largest and oldest business park in Israel, which hosts a large number of Israeli and international high-tech companies, such as Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, Google, Yahoo, Wix, and Philips.
Housing
Housing is guaranteed during the period of the program (dates to be announced).
Social and Cultural Activities
To enrich the learning experience, students will be invited to participate in social and cultural activities, both on and off-campus, such as lectures and trips, including industry visits and tours to major Israeli tourist attractions. Students will also visit cutting-edge laboratories and meet Technion faculty, and they will engage with lunchtime speakers providing in-depth exposure to Israeli and Middle Eastern culture and history. Campus social activities are led by Technion International’s experienced student guides.
Support & Assistance
Technion International trains student guides to assist visiting students with a wide range of questions and issues. The Technion International team also organizes special events, trips and activities open to all international students on campus, that enrich their study experiences in Israel.
