Introduction

Are you a musician looking to expand and develop your craft, with a focus on performance and recording? Join us to explore the world of musical creativity. This comprehensive course will take you through writing and playing instruments/vocals to performance, record contracts and studio production.

Course topics include: stagecraft, recording/mixing/mastering, artist rights/registering and publishing finished productions using online tools. Gain further understanding of the roles and responsibilities in the recording or live stage environment, such as room acoustics & microphone usage and how to prepare for & how to avoid tech obstacles. We will also discuss music business options and a look at performing rights associations for registering and collecting royalties on works. MAPL (Canadian content requirements) will also be discussed.
