For many international students, building a strong foundation in the English language is the first step. We offer English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to those who need to strengthen their language skills in order to be successful in their academic programs.
The Schoolcraft International Center is here to ensure that your experience as an international student is positive and rewarding. We work with our students from the day they apply through the day they graduate. The International Center provides support for both immigration-related issues and academic advising.
The Schoolcraft Learning Support Services offers tutoring and other support programs specifically targeted to help our international students. Outside the classroom, Schoolcraft offers a wide variety of student activities, clubs, volunteer opportunities, and athletics to make your college experience meaningful and enjoyable.

Admissions
First Year Students
Apply Online
Applying for admission is the first step toward enrolling in college as a new student. Complete our online form to apply. You will need to create a new account to save your application.
Provide Additional Information
Students who have special circumstances may have to provide additional information or documentation along with their application. If you fit any additional student types, please ensure you review and follow their admissions steps too.
Submit Your Transcripts
Transcripts are required to complete the application process. Electronic requests are the fastest and easiest way to submit transcripts. Request your high school transcripts be sent electronically after completing the first semester of your senior year of high school, or after your final semester of high school if you have already graduated. The quickest and easiest way to have your high school transcripts sent to us is through the Parchment Exchange. The same process applies to GED scores.
Submit Your Test Scores
Submit SAT/ACT Scores if taken within the last three years. Request your scores be sent to Schoolcraft College (SAT Code 1764, ACT code 2070) or upload scores in your Schoolcraft My Account under supplemental items.
Alternatively, you can take placement tests in the Schoolcraft Testing Center. Testing is offered on a walk-in basis during regular hours. Allow approximately 2-1/2 hours to complete testing. Photo identification is required at the time of testing.

Visa Requirements
International Students
Prospective Student: F-1 Student Admission Process
International students intending to study in the United States on an F-1 visa have additional admission requirements and must submit supplemental documents during the application process. These documents are listed in the International Student Packet and are required in order for an I-20 to be issued to a prospective F-1 student. To begin the admission process as an F-1 international student please complete the steps listed below:
1. Apply for Admission to Schoolcraft College
Submit an application for admission to Schoolcraft College. Once your application is complete, you will receive an admission decision via email in approximately 3-7 days.
2. International Student Packet
Fill out and submit all the additional documents listed in the International Student Packet. Be sure to read the packet thoroughly. If you have any questions regarding these documents, we are happy to assist you.
3. I-20 Issuance
Once the international student packet and all additional required documents are submitted and checked for completion a visa eligibility document (I-20) will be generated. This document allows foreign nationals to obtain F-1 or M-1 student status either by changing their current visa status if they are in the U.S. or by obtaining an F-1 or M-1 visa through a U.S. consulate or embassy outside of the U.S. You will receive your I-20 and Welcome Packet with additional information via regular postal mail or expedited shipping if you choose to use eShip.
4. Obtaining a Visa
Once you receive your Welcome Packet and I-20 in the mail, you can begin preparing for your visa interview. The Welcome Packet will contain instructions for paying the SEVIS fee and applying for your visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
5. Transcripts
If you previously attended college or university inside the U.S please submit your official college transcripts to Schoolcraft College. The transcripts must be sent directly from the transfer institution to Schoolcraft College. Hand-carried or “issued to student” copies will not be accepted or considered official.
