  • Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics – Hispanic Outlook (October 2021)

Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine has named Riverside City College among the Top 100 institutions in the nation for Hispanic students. RCC ranked 10th for degrees granted to Hispanics and 10th in total enrollment among two-year colleges in the Top 100 colleges and Universities for Hispanics issue published on October 11.

The redesigned RCC website earned a Gold Award (top honors) from the Community College Public Relations Organization.

RCC ranked 4th in the nation for associate degrees awarded and 11th in enrollment for Hispanic students by Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazine.

Transfer opportunity

RCC has transfer agreements with all 9 University of California, 23 California State Universities, and many other universities in the US. RCC international students transfer to TOP US universities every year, such as UC- Berkeley, UC- Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Colombia University, and many more!

Optional Practical Training (OPT)- One year work permit

F-1 international students who studied at RCC for at least one academic year and graduate with a certificate OR associate degree might be eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which will allow them to work full-time after graduation for up to one year in the US upon approval by USCIS.

    RCC has only two international student admissions requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent OR over the age of 18 (minors may be considered for special admission)
    • TOEFL iBT 45 or equivalent

    Student Employment?

    • Student Employment offers students the opportunity to have part-time employment on or off-campus that can possibly be related to their chosen field of study.
    • Offers employment that can ​​be flexible to their school schedules.
    • Allows students to gain work experience and assist in paying for their educational expenses.
    • Pay rates are commensurate with job descriptions and experience. Documentation may be required depending on the program or type of job.
    • Students must have a valid social security card and picture ID. (International students will need additional documentation for employment which is outlined in the hire package.)

    Financial Aid Support for Your Educational Goals

    There are many types of financial aid available to you at RCC. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application is required for most financial aid forms. Types of financial aid include grants, scholarships, tuition waivers, and student loans.

    Riverside Community College District Scholarship

    There are over 250 scholarships available to students through the RCCD Foundation, and only one application is needed to apply. If you are an admitted student at RCC and have a student email address, you can apply for scholarships offered by the RCCD Foundation.

    CGACC-RCC International Student Scholarship​

    International Students at Riverside City College are welcome to apply for CGACC-RCC Scholarship. This scholarship is in the form of a tuition fee reduction estimated at $1,250. The application deadline for CGACC-RCC International Student Scholarship is July 25, and the results of the students selected are typically announced by August 6.

    To be eligible for this award, the applicant must be a new or continuing international student who will study full-time at one of the RCCD colleges (Riverside City College, Norco College, or Moreno Valley College) on an F-1 Student Visa in the fall semester. Transfer students can also apply. New international students who apply for the scholarship must have a completed RCC international student application, submit all required documents, and receive an RCCD I-20.
