Introduction
This program prepares you for entry-level employment in Wildland Fire Management. It provides entry-level fire suppression and management skills. The student develops efficiency and performance in safety, ethical decision-making, communications, aviation, business management, fire line tactics, water hydraulics, chainsaw operation, and recognition of environmental factors affecting start and spread of wildland fires. The certificate is targeted towards operational Incident Command positions. Completion of this certificate provides the student with the background needed to pursue an Associate Degree in Wildland Fire Science. GENERAL EDUCATION (8 cr) Area I. Communications (4 cr)
