Introduction
The Real Estate Associate in Arts program provides excellent preparation for the broker’s or salesperson’s license and contributes to efficiency in many allied professions such as developers, appraisers, title officers, property managers, and mortgage brokers and bankers. In addition, the courses provide important information and training for professionals interested in investing in real estate, including those in government working with real property.
To qualify for the Associate in Arts in Real Estate degree, students must satisfactorily complete the Degree Major requirements specified below and the local AA/AS General Education requirements.
Program Outcome
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate and apply in-depth knowledge of California Real Estate principles and laws to successfully complete licensure requirements for sales licensee and broker.
- Apply basic knowledge of the fundamental concepts of real estate.
- Define the technical terminology involved in the real estate field.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and ethically with the principals involved in a real property transaction.
- Interpret and apply California real estate laws to a variety of real property transactions.
