We’re on a mission: to change the world through the power of small.

In a world obsessed with big, we are small. Small gives us the power to do big things. In an impersonal world of big lecture halls and stadium seating, we know our students by name and circumstance.

Small free us to provide personal one-on-one attention, in small classes and personalized hands-on learning environments. The result? Loyalist graduates are job-ready with the skills needed to immediately impact challenging fields across biosciences, health, business and media.

As Ontario’s Destination College, our intimate campus is located on over 200 acres in the beautiful Bay of Quinte region and is perfectly positioned between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Our deep community roots and collaborative spirit ensure we work hand-in-hand with our local partners and industries to drive the future of innovation and workforce development in the Bay of Quinte region.

We are Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology. We are small.

    How to Apply

An international applicant is a person wishing to study in Canada who is neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident as defined by the current Immigration Act. The mature student clause does not apply to international student applicants.

    What is the Application Deadline?

The early application deadline to be given equal consideration by the colleges is February 1; however, most colleges continue to take applications up to the start of classes in September. Some programs are filled quickly; early application will increase your chances of being accepted to the program of your choice.

    Admission Requirements

International applicants must provide proof of academic standing equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) (Grade 12), along with transcripts from any post-secondary education (if applicable).

The following certificates are acceptable for admission:

    • Scanned original, secondary school graduation transcripts.
    • Scanned original, university/post-secondary graduation transcripts (for post-grad).
    • Certified translation if applicable. All documents must be in English.
    • English proficiency test results.
    • Our admissions team might request backlog certificate as well as experience/work related document for any gap in study.

    Language Requirements

All teaching within Loyalists is conducted in English. In order to be successful in a program, skills such as communication, listening comprehension, and reading and writing must be at a level sufficient to meet the demands of post-secondary studies. All applicants to Loyalist whose first language is not English, or whose previous education was in another language, will be expected to provide an English proficiency assessment for admissions approval.

    Visa Requirements

In order to study in Canada you will need your Letter of Admissions along with your passport to process your study permit/visa application at your local Canadian Embassy or Consulate. Please go to the IRCC website for details on applying for a visa/study permit and working in Canada. This website has helpful information about work permits for students, information for after you graduate, and for applying for permanent residency. If you are interested in staying in Canada after you graduate, please be aware that the length of study will determine the length you will be granted to remain in Canada after graduation. It is a requirement of CIC that international students study full time.

    Scholarships and Funding

Each year we provide over a million dollars in student funding through awards, bursaries, scholarships and employment opportunities through the On-Campus Employment Initiative. There’s money out there to help you reach your goals. The friendly staff in our Financial Aid Office can show you where to find it, help you apply and teach you helpful budgeting skills to make it last through the school year.
