Introduction
The Post-diploma from the Bourgogne Franche-Comté platform is a year of reflection, experimentation, and work. Its objective is the realization of unique production, questioning its status and its conditions of distribution. This production will be appreciated for bringing the artist's research and work closer to new audiences. The Post-diploma will lead to a school diploma and a public presentation to art professionals.
Its program is designed for young artists who wish to question current models of art production and dissemination. During their training, the students mainly create a series of pieces and a dissertation in parallel. Focusing on the exhibition issue, which does not come across quickly when you leave school, can hinder other forms of creation more suited to alternative distribution and more in line with current society.
This study program proposes to rethink the presentation models of works often inherited from the 19th century. The artist's work should not be prevented by institutional conservatism or the evils of artistic creation commodification. Thus, this Post-Master year aims to support each participant in a reflection on the production of art, its role in society, and its dissemination outside the usual exhibition space. It is rooted in a social perspective oriented towards reflection, transmission, and sharing.
If no theme will be imposed, the questions of borders - real and fantasized -, social commitment, ethics, politics, nomadism, cultures, languages , and transmission will be addressed against nationalist visions and sectarian. Articulated around the invitation made to artists, theoreticians, and art professionals, the POST BC program will provide the methodology and reflection necessary to pursue research work and its dissemination/transmission outside traditional art channels.
Procedure:
The program consists of 5 weeks of work and immersive reflection in several places and countries, with each time one or more local guests. It also offers a professionalizing experience in France or an internship in an artistic structure related to the project, a mission, or the pursuit of a module in a partner school abroad. Finally, it consists of making workshop time available, making it possible to use the three schools' resources, both technical and human.
- 5 sessions of 5 days with for each meeting with artists or theorists (October, November, December, May, and June)
- 3 months of mobility from January to April (internship, experience, or Erasmus +)
- production time in the workshops of the three schools (to be defined according to projects and specificities)
