Introduction

The Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk is designed to provide students with foundation knowledge required to recognise the presenting risk of family violence in individuals.

This course provides you with the skills and training to be able to identify the presenting risk of family violence for co-workers and clients, and provide a response appropriate to your role, these include:

  • the use of effective interpersonal skills to engage sensitively with service users to facilitate self-disclosure
  • identification of family violence risk using approved family violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM)
  • the key skills required for screening, risk assessment, risk management, information sharing and referral.

This training opportunity will enable you to build your confidence as you apply strategies and approaches to responding to family violence.
