AA in Accounting

A background in accounting develops strong analytical and critical thinking skills. That foundation prepares you for employment opportunities in nearly every industry. Accounting courses at Heartland explore the fundamentals of accounting, industry practices, and economic theories. You'll gain skills in managing financial transactions, accounting records, financial statements, reports, and summaries. Also, you'll learn about tax reporting, computer technology, and general business skills.

As an accounting student at Heartland, you can get involved in the Business Club and be eligible two join the Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honors Society. Many HCC accounting faculty members are Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) engaged in active practice. That brings real-world relevance to your classroom experiences.
