Introduction
The course is designed not only to give you an insight into the science, mathematics and ‘art’ of how computers work but more importantly will encourage a new way of thinking about the solutions to world problems.
You will learn about different components and how each of them interacts to make a working system. Through a range of units, you will be taught to think abstractly and computationally, and you will complete a practical project in a computing field.
You will also discover how computers hold and manipulate data using algorithms and ‘in-memory’ data structures, how machines ‘learn’ and how they communicate with each other over a network. Also, you will learn how to write your own programs using the widely-used programming language Python.
