A student who majors in computer science or software engineering at Franklin College are well equipped to handle the most marketable and in-demand skills in today’s workplace. Students learn and sharpen their coding and software development skills each semester while studying at Franklin. In-class and out-of-class projects that tie together conceptual knowledge, problem-solving, and technical skills in collaborative environments are recurrent experiences that help to shape our students into technology professionals ready to engage in our high-tech world.

The senior-year software development project is a hallmark of the computer science and software engineering majors. The project requires a senior computing student to tie together all aspects of their learning experience at Franklin College. From meeting with real-world clients to determine their software needs to designing solutions, to coding and testing their final product, a senior computing major touches all aspects of the development process. Employers often comment on how impressed they are with the quality and depth of our senior software projects.
