ESRA is a French Film School, created in 1972, it is the only private school entitled by the French government to issue and deliver a State degree (French bachelor). ESRA mixes theoretical and practical instruction equally in a program that proved its efficiency throughout the years. 6000 alumni are now working in the field of Cinema and Television. Since 2007, ESRA has been offering its graduate students an optional fourth year of studies in New York City, during which they take a 12-week program and shoot a short movie, in collaboration with a New York partner school. Our summer programs offer eligible students from all over the world the opportunity to engage in challenging academic work in the company of peers who share their exceptional abilities and love of learning. All faculty at ESRA are recognized teachers and working professionals. Our focus is on rigorous academics and learning but also on the social experience that results from bringing international students together.

ESRA: Undergraduate School of Audiovisual Creation

A Three-year program in cinema and audiovisual: Directing for Film, Directing for TV, Directing for TV Series, Production, Editing, and Image (Cinematography).

ISTS: Undergraduate School of Sound Technics

A three-year program for careers in Sound: studio sound, sound for the screen, Live events, and Radio.

SUP’Infograph: Undergraduate school for 3D Animation films.

A three-year program for careers in 3D animation films: Directing and animation, lighting and rendering, and post-production. New York: Graduate ESRA, ISTS, and SUP’Infograph students can choose to follow an optional 4th year in New York City. This program contains theoretical and practical courses, productions, and internships. Also, 1st and 2nd-year students can follow a summer program in New York City during the month of July.

Continuing Education

In Paris, Nice, Rennes, and Bruxelles, ESRA Continuing Education offers to all adults seeking a change of careers, programs from one week to eight months in different fields: Audiovisual directing, Audiovisual technician, sound technician, HD shooting, digital photography, software certifications (Apple and avid certified center).

ESRA Juniors

ESRA offers introductory programs for French high school students from five days to a month in Screenwriting, film analysis, Sound, directing, and editing. They take place in February, April, and July in every school: Paris, Nice, Rennes, Bruxelles, and also in Cannes during the International Film Festival in May.

ESRA International Programs

Since 2016, ESRA International has been offering a one-year filmmaking program for foreign students in English in Paris. Also since 2016, ESRA International has been offering 2 to 4-week summer programs for foreign students in Filmmaking in English in Paris, Nice, and Bruxelles.

ESRA – DHEC: Graduate Programs

Since 2008, ESRA has been offering two graduate programs in Screenwriting / Directing and Production / Distribution in Paris.

ESRA Paris

A campus in the 15th arrondissement of Paris!

    ESRA Paris

    Students can apply for scholarships from CROUS for ESRA, ISTS, ESRA Animation, and DHEC, as well as school-specific scholarships for all programs. Student loans can also be requested from partner banks:

    ESRA Rennes

    Students can apply for school-specific scholarships for all programs. Student loans can also be requested from partner banks.

    ESRA Côte d'Azur

    We are pleased to inform you that by decision of April 18, 2018, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation has authorized the programs "Conception Réalisation Audiovisuelle" and "Réalisation de Film d'Animation" offered at ESRA Côte d'Azur, leading to DESRA and DESFA (Bac+3) respectively, to accept scholarship recipients starting from the 2018 academic year. Students admitted or applying to any of these programs can therefore submit a request for need-based scholarships.
