Curriculum
The Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Technologies is an advanced program, presented at a considerably higher level than the advanced diploma and bachelor’s degree level programs. This program has equal standing and level to that of a university Graduate Diploma but focuses on the career outcomes of a professional engineer and technologist. It has a higher vocational or ‘job related’ emphasis and focuses more on developing practical skills that you can apply to the workplace, rather than theory alone.
This program dives deep into the complex and ever-evolving world of hydrogen-based technologies. It equips students with specialized knowledge in hydrogen production, storage, and delivery, alongside insights into effective deployment strategies for specific industries, hydrogen’s role in the energy market, relevant policies, standards, and emerging trends. Designed for those seeking a comprehensive grasp of hydrogen’s potential beyond standard renewable energy courses, this program also caters to employers in need of highly skilled engineers in this niche field. Engineers will explore a wide array of design, implementation, and safety considerations in hydrogen technologies. Graduates with the program’s certificate will hold a competitive advantage in the job market, well-prepared for the demands of hydrogen engineering and management.
- Hydrogen Production, Storage, Delivery, Safety
- Hydrogen in the Power Industry
- Hydrogen in Industry
- Managing Hydrogen in Context: Deployment, Policies, Trends
Program Outcome
Specifically, graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Hydrogen Engineering and Management will be able to:
- Develop knowledge of the requirements to assess and safely manage hydrogen systems for production, storage and delivery
- Apply the principles and knowledge required to justify approaches to hydrogen production, storage, and delivery within a hydrogen-based energy system.
- Manage engineering development projects associated with hydrogen
- Identify and explain the applications, characteristics, and impacts of hydrogen in the power industry
- Assess and analyze strategies suitable for the implementation of hydrogen energy initiatives in both the power sector and across various industrial domains
- Manage planning and implementation of a potential hydrogen-based energy system
- Develop a broad knowledge of regional, national and global influences applicable to hydrogen energy-based systems
- Recognize and enhance the deployment of hydrogen as applied to selected current and future technologies and applications
- Assist with formulating effective holistic strategies about hydrogen energy business cases
- Manage self-autonomy to achieve objectives within organizations that have outputs based on technological application and develop professional practice in the field
