Introduction
This course is aimed at family members, therapists, and students of different disciplines, trainers, physical instructors, or anyone interested in learning tango dance as a rehabilitation tool for people with Parkinson's disease.
You will learn how the Tango hug has become an important therapeutic device to aid in the rehabilitation of people with PD.
Tango has become the dance recommended by health professionals for rehabilitation through different exercises.
Dancing the Tango is walking a hug between two people walking to the rhythm of their music.
The pulse of tango music, the clarity of its rhythm in the bars, make this dance very friendly to walk or dance, specifically for people with PD.
By learning the basic aspects of this dance, you will be incorporating Tango as a rehabilitation tool and as art therapy.
You will be able to learn different exercises for bradykinesia, feast, posture, balance, balance, and joint mobility to prevent stiffness.
Exercises to increase the body register that will improve daily life, such as avoiding falls.
Visual exercises - motor, coordination, conflict resolution in situations of tremor, freezing gait of set-shifting.
In addition, we will consider the individual as a psycho-physical-social unit and we will approach the Tango dance from motivational, emotional, and cognitive aspects.
Creation and improvisation will be present as fundamental playful elements in this art therapy.
The exercises are easy since we will handle ourselves from the embrace as a mirror container, with opposite and complementary energies.
Exercises that can be practiced anywhere, enable a regular work plan and high motivation to later apply them in socializing environments.
Dancing the Tango is an antidote to a sedentary lifestyle, to avoid isolation and depression, reduce anxiety and renew energy, many times diminished by the fatigue of the individual with PD.
