Introduction
The semester-long General and Enhanced French course offers many benefits for international students looking to improve their mastery of the French language.
These programs are designed to consolidate learners’ linguistic foundations and promote the acquisition of new skills in French. The main objective of a general and reinforced French course at the CCFS is in fact to raise the level of French of those enrolled, whatever their level.

General program:
This 12-week formula with the same group allows you to validate a complete level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Reinforced program (general program + written and oral reinforcement option + conferences:
This formula brings together the 3 areas of historical expertise recognized throughout the world: oral and written language, phonetics, and French civilization. It also offers oral and written reinforcement courses for students who wish to go further and accentuate their learning in these two skills to integrate French universities or private schools, to integrate into a professional team, or to interact in daily life.

This training is aimed at young adults and adults wishing to acquire and develop their French language skills, for academic, professional, and/or personal purposes.

Curriculum
General program (S10 > 150 hours):
From Monday to Friday, this formula offers:
- 2 hours of French language lessons per day (10 hours per week) or 120 hours in total.
- 1 hour of phonetics per day with laboratory (5 hours per week, every other week) or 30 hours in total.
General program + “conferences” option (S20 > 240 hours):
Students choosing the “conferences” option benefit, in addition to French courses, from free access to conferences (each conference lasts 1h30) for 10 weeks or 90 hours in total.
Reinforced program (general program + written and oral reinforcement option + conferences (S35 > 243 hours):
Students choosing the “written and oral reinforcement” option benefit from hours dedicated to deepening written and oral skills and access to French civilization conferences. This program consists of each week:
- 10 hours of language courses allowing students to progress in their mastery of French (grammar, conjugation, spelling, vocabulary, approach to literary texts, written and oral expression).
- 5 hours of phonetics lessons (every other week) allowing students to improve their pronunciation, comprehension, and expression.
- 4 hours of reinforcement in oral and written language per week, 48 hours per semester.
- Free access to weekly 1.5 hours conferences of your choice, on various aspects of French civilization, i.e., 45 hours in total.
Program Outcome
Language course
- Develop the level of general French through work on the 5 skills (listening, speaking, interacting, reading, and writing).
- Acquire solid linguistic foundations (grammar, vocabulary, conjugation) to express yourself and communicate both orally and in writing.
Phonetic
- Improve your oral comprehension through listening exercises for sounds, words, and sentences.
- Improve/perfect your pronunciation and fluency with repetition and systematization exercises and personalized phonetic correction.
“Conferences” option
- Discover French culture and civilization while improving your level of oral comprehension (history, literature, art, Paris, and the regions).
- Consolidate skills: written expression/comprehension as well as oral expression/comprehension.
