As a student on this course, you will join forces with your peers enrolled on our two-year BA (Hons) Fashion Communication & Industry Practice degree programme, actively engaging in three pivotal modules: Introduction to Fashion Media, Fashion Culture & Trends, and Fashion Image & Visual Communication.

Curriculum
The course offers a unique blend, combining academic rigour and industry engagement with practical and professional skills acquisition. You are encouraged to develop your understanding of current and potential future practices within the ever-changing fashion and media industries and to consider your potential future role within these industries. During your time of study, you will have the opportunity to tap into the College’s wide network of academics and industry professionals.
The programme is structured as one 10-week term, an RQF level 4 (45 credits) undergraduate certificate course validated by the University of Buckingham. The programme combines academic rigour and industry engagement with practical and professional skills acquisition. You will be encouraged to develop your understanding of current and potential future practices within the ever-changing fashion and media industries and to consider your potential future role within them.

Introduction to Fashion Media
In this module, you’ll delve into the dynamic world of fashion media, with a strong focus on understanding contemporary industry practices. This module provides valuable insights into the latest trends and developments shaping the fashion media landscape, allowing you to stay current and well-informed in this fast-paced field.
Fashion Image & Visual Communication
This module emphasises the pivotal role of images as powerful communication tools in the fashion industry. Not only will you gain a profound understanding of the significance of visual elements, but you’ll also have the opportunity to develop practical skills in image creation and visual communication. You’ll step into the studio to engage in hands-on experiences, including a Still Life accessories shoot. Furthermore, you’ll acquire proficiency in essential design software like Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, enabling you to bring your creative visions to life with precision and flair.
Fashion Culture & Trends
In this module, we take you on a captivating journey through the history and evolution of fashion. This exploration provides you with a solid foundation for comprehending how fashion trends emerge and are effectively communicated to diverse audiences. By examining the intricacies of trend-setting processes, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted aspects of the fashion world, equipping you with valuable knowledge that extends beyond the surface of fashion trends.

This programme will help you take your first steps in higher education. You will be able to progress from the VOGUE Certificate in Fashion Marketing to our other VOGUE Certificates. Completion of all three Certificates will allow you to progress onto the final 5 terms of our BA (Hons) Fashion Communication & Industry Practice degree.
