Introduction
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Policing will provide students with the generic knowledge, understanding, and skills to enter employment within Policing, the wider public service sector, or entry to Higher Education through a top-up degree. Studying for this course will allow students to learn a range of techniques and tools essential for successful performance in working life. It will help individuals apply these skills at their workplace and build upon the knowledge they must have gained at completing the course. Those already employed will be able to immediately use these attributes at their workplace and improvise their working practices.
This course comprises the following units: Leadership in Policing; Crime Reduction and Community Policing; Initiative Skills; Government Interactions with the Police Service; Emergency Planning and the Police; Health and Safety Management in the Police Service; Counter-Terrorism; Investigation into Armed Policing.
Additional Qualifications - Level 3 Award in Education and Training (TBC).
For Home and EU students, a loan from the Student Loans Company is available to support learners with fees if applied for. These fees cover the course's overall costs, including sports kits, guest speakers, day trips, and additional courses that will be run throughout the year.
