Introduction

The advantage of ADPoly programs in general and the aviation programs in particular is that it allows graduates with high achievements and ambition to pursue higher educational studies. Those that are successful and with a desire to pursue further education can do so at ADPoly or at a variety of institution that offer advanced degrees in aviation related technologies.

The AET program was developed to address the need for aircraft engineering in an expanding commercial aviation market. There has been and increasing demand for commercial aviation worldwide and particularly in the UAE mandated by airline companies’ keen interest in increasing their fleets of aircrafts and registering an unprecedented growth in this sector of transportation. The airline’s fleets require a considerable amount of human resources that are versed in this high-tech industry to manage its growth.

ADPoly’s AET programs were developed to provide the UAE’s needed national expertise in aircraft engineering technologies. ADPoly’s AET programs provides internationally (approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency-EASA) and nationally approved (Approved by the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE) Ab/Initio training in aircraft engineering technologies. These approvals lead to industry required licensing. Additionally, the AET program is a Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s accredited three years’ Higher Diploma in Aircraft Engineering Technology. This accredited program embeds the requirements of EASA’s/GCAA’s Ab/Initio training under part 66/CAR 66 Category B1-Aeromechanical Technology and/or Category B2-Avionics Technology License programs respectively.

Graduates are eligible to apply for EASA’s and GCAA’s category B “Maintenance Certifying Technician License” after completing the Ab/Initio training requirements along with a two years of relevant industrial experience. This license is the key for work in civil aviation on commercial aircraft at any recognized or approved maintenance facility, worldwide.
