Carfax provides a wide range of courses for pupils applying to British and American universities, as well as those seeking entry to world-leading universities elsewhere.

Some pupils spend one-to-two years at the college, preparing for a set of A-Levels or other qualifications, as well as course-specific standardized tests (or, in the case of applicants to American universities, Advanced Placement (AP) and SAT), while others join for the weekend, evening, or holiday courses.

Carfax also offers a 'Foundation Programme', including (where required) English Language teaching, to prepare international pupils for entry to leading universities.

Courses are developed to cater to the specific needs of each pupil, depending on the universities he or she is seeking to enter.

Carfax also runs group courses for pupils from overseas, including visits to universities, and detailed guidance on applications.

While many Carfax pupils are applying for undergraduate programmes, Carfax also provides short and long-term courses for those applying for post-graduate programmes.

International Pupils

Carfax welcomes pupils from overseas, some of whom will need a visa to study in the UK. The college offers comprehensive advice and support in all areas related to student visas, from preparing and submitting an application through to meeting important requirements after arrival in the UK. Carfax College is a UKVI-licensed Tier 4 Sponsor and can support pupils of all ages who require a Tier 4 visa to take long-term courses of study in the UK. The College can also support overseas pupils who need to obtain a Short-Term Study visa before coming for a shorter course (less than six months).

Unusually for an educational institution, Carfax has members of staff professionally qualified to provide immigration advice and services through being registered with the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner and thus can offer an understanding of all intricacies of visa application process as well as unprecedented visa turnaround times. In addition, Carfax enjoys good relations with all of the leading London and global immigration law firms and can make appropriate referrals where necessary.

Please do not hesitate to contact the admissions team with any questions you might have about student visas.

Admissions

Carfax College does not operate a selective admissions policy. Pupils of all levels are welcome to benefit from the very personal tuition and pastoral care. The College is equally suited to high-flyers and to those who have struggled academically. The levels of individual attention can also be of particular help to pupils with special educational needs.

The College has no formal age restrictions. The majority of GCSE pupils are between 14 and 16 years old, and most A-level pupils are between 16 and 19 years old. However, the College can offer

courses which are suitable for both younger and older pupils.

Group courses begin in September and January. Pupils on individual courses are encouraged to follow the normal pattern of the school year, but there is a great deal of flexibility in this and in principle, they can join at any time during the year. Short-term and part-time courses are also offered all year round, including weekends and holidays.

Adult Learners

Adult learners, whether university students or older, are welcome and are not an unusual sight at Carfax College.
