Basic information

The course The teaching of the Spanish language and culture consists of three one-week courses that can be done independently or together.

The José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation announces this course in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

Those attending the course will receive a certificate of attendance, issued jointly by the Cervantes Institute and the José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation.

Each week of the course is recognized with 2 credits of teacher training by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport for teachers who meet the requirements established by law. The minimum number of participants established for the course to have the Ministry's recognition is 15.

Recipients

The recipients of the course are:

  • Teachers of Spanish as a foreign language and as a second language.
  • Secondary school teachers.
  • Future teachers of Spanish.

The maximum number of participants in each course will be 35.

goals

The objectives of the course are:

  1. Analyze different methodological currents for the development of grammatical competence.
  2. Provide didactic strategies for the correction of pronunciation.
  3. Reflect on the use of cultural elements as a source of resources for didactic design.
  4. Use cinema, literature and painting as tools for the ELE class.

The program of the course is the following:

- The teaching of grammar and phonetics (8-12 July 2019) (20 hours)

The teaching of grammar (14 hours)

Dates and times

It involves three one-week courses, which can be done independently or together. It is also possible to attend two courses.

The dates of the courses are the following:

  • The teaching of grammar and phonetics (8-12 July 2019) (20 hours)
  • Didactic use of cinema in the classroom (July 15-19, 2019) (20 hours)
  • Art and literature in the classroom (22-26 July 2019) (20 hours)

Classes will take place in the morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

For remodeling works at the headquarters of the José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation (C / Fortuny, 53. 28010 Madrid), the courses have been temporarily moved to the headquarters of the Free Teaching Institution (Paseo del General Martínez Campos, 14. 28010 Madrid).
