Course description of Cooking and Gastronomy Technician

This Technician in Cooking and Gastronomy course follows the specifications of the BOE for this training. Our students are known by the main companies in the sector, who request them for internships (and in many cases, for hiring).

At the end of the studies, if you pass the course you will obtain an IEEF diploma certifying that you have satisfactorily passed the preparatory course for the free exam that allows you to obtain the title of "TECHNICIAN IN KITCHEN AND GASTRONOMY" (official qualification of Vocational Training approved by the Ministry of Education , obtained through presentation to the free official tests that are convened in different autonomous communities by virtue of Royal Decree 1538/2006, of December 30, which regulates the FP from 2007).

You will be entitled to 160 or 320 hours of internships in leading companies in the sector, with real chances of getting a job.

If you prefer, this course is also taught online.

What will I learn?

At the end of the course, you will be able to work in kitchen for restaurants or hotels, as a chef or head of departure. You will learn not only what is necessary to work as a professional chef, but also all the activities necessary for the management of the kitchen (preparing a menu or menu, logistics, safety and hygiene, career guidance, etc.).

Do I need previous training?

To be able to access the free tests of Technician in Cooking and Gastronomy FP some requirements must be fulfilled:

In order to take part in the entrance exam for Middle Grade Training Cycles, the applicant must have, at least, 17 years of age or complete them in the calendar year in which the tests are carried out.

In order to take part in the entrance exam for Higher Degree Training Cycles, the applicant must meet any of the following conditions:

  • Be 19 years old, or meet them in the calendar year in which the tests are carried out.
  • Be 18 years old, or fulfill them in the calendar year in which the tests are carried out, and be in possession of the Technician title belonging to one of the professional families included in the option for which you are applying for registration.

In addition, they must prove that they meet any of the following conditions.

  • Have the domicile of residence in the Community of Madrid established.
  • Have the work address set in the Community of Madrid.
  • Having overcome or exempt, in the calls made by the Community of Madrid in the years 2009 or later, any of the constituent parts of the access test to which you wish to attend.
