Program Description

This program follows the standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities for steps 1 basic, 2 intermediate and advanced industrial mechanic 3-editor of trade or industrial millwright. In addition to general knowledge required (that is to say, safety, mathematics, AutoCAD, measuring instruments, lubricants, welding, electrical, bearings, pumps, compressors, rigging, hydraulic), global competition that Canadian companies are introducing in the trade a range of specialized processes such as laser alignment assisted by computer, the programmable logic controller (PLC) and vibration analysis.

Businesses courses allow the student or the student to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the year. Graduates of this program have the knowledge and skills to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all types of mechanical equipment: hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, compressors, material handling systems and drive systems.

Conditions of admission :

  • Certificate in Practical mechanics

Recommended course:

  • 1 credit - English: 11th, pre-college or pre-university

  • All courses are offered in French. Given the realities of the labor market, Collège Boréal prepares the student or the student to work in both official languages. This curriculum might include manuals or documentation in English, or even the possibility of an internship in an environment where bilingualism is required.
  • Possibility of a Diploma Apprenticeship Program (Co-op) in this area.
