Apply by 1 May 2017!
The Summer School corresponds to 5 ECTS credits.
Organised by: Inter-University programme: Institute for European Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, in collaboration with the University of Vienna.
The first week (in Brussels) reviews the main EU institutions and decision-making procedures, while theoretically exploring questions of governance, participation and legitimacy. During the second week (in Vienna) students learn more about EU foreign relations. New to our programme in 2017 is an empirical focus on one current policy issue. This year, Brexit is in the spotlight, as we invite experts to shed light on the consequences of the UK’s departure from the EU. Throughout the two weeks, the summer school participants will be tasked to study the implications of Brexit from a selected angle, to be presented to their peers at the end of the programme.
