RAMSES: Advanced School on Critical Raw Materials Substitution for Energetics and Photonics

Description: The “Advanced School on Critical Raw Materials Substitution for Energetics and Photonics” (RAMSES) aims at promoting the diffusion of knowledge on novel material strategies for the substitution or reuse of critical materials in the fields of energy and photonics.

Lectures by material scientists, engineers, and geologists will be coupled with lessons offered by experts in technological solutions and sustainability as well as from environmental, economical, sociology, and anthropology areas.

Summer School on Rough Sets: Decision Making, Data Mining, Knowledge Representation

Description: The first Summer School by University of Milano-Bicocca on Rough Sets is organized in collaboration with theInternational Rough Set Society, in particular with the Task Group on Education. The school’s aim is to introduce PhD students and researchers at the early stages of their career to the Rough Set field.

GEM Green Energy Management


The 3rd Edition of GEM (Green Energy Management) Summer School is taking place in Erice (Sicily). It aims to provide international students with a context sensitive first-class training in the field of Green Energy Management and renewable resources. Leading scientists from Europe and industrial and institutional partners will be part of the teaching staff, bringing in their expertise and experience.

Visits to local research laboratories will also be organized. The program will be held at: Ettore Majorana Centre in Erice (Sicily); a unique location famous for its beauty, history and scientific relevance, will provide the faculty and participants to engage in dialogue and knowledge sharing.

The forms of urban attractiveness: methods of analysis and case studies – Program based in Milan & Barcelona


The main aim of the summer school is to improve the knowledge of the participants in the field of the urban attractions analyzed from different perspective and in particular concerning different types of urban populations and services, different models of policies and governance structure.
