Technion invites tech-minded students from around the world for an unforgettable summer experience at Israel’s acclaimed institute for science, technology, and applied research. Students will take courses, taught by the Technion’s renowned faculty, in Entrepreneurship and Innovation alongside international peers, while earning academic credits and interning at an Israeli engineering or start-up company.
You will also have the opportunity to travel around Israel with international peers and participate in social activities, take trips to high-tech companies, and explore exciting tours around Israel’s famous sites. Students will visit cutting-edge laboratories, meet Technion faculty, and hear from lunchtime speakers, in addition to in-depth exposure to Israeli and Middle Eastern culture and history.

Program Details
The Summer in Entrepreneurship and Professional Internship program is an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate students from all over the world who are interested in enhancing their academic profile with a rigorous and challenging academic experience at Israel’s oldest university and premier center for science, technology, and applied sciences. Technion invites tech-minded students from around the world to an unforgettable summer learning experience at Israel’s premier institute for science, technology, and applied research. Students can study with renowned faculty and international peers to earn academic credits or intern at an Israeli engineering or start-up company to gain valuable work experience. Courses are offered in Entrepreneurship and Humanities.
Israel Summer Internships
Professional Internships: Professional Internships are directed work-study experiences taken in companies and industry sectors common to the Israeli economy. Working as an intern enables students to connect theory with practice and apply the engineering and/or scientific principles learned in the classroom to a real-world professional environment. Completing an internship abroad is an invaluable opportunity to learn about local business and engineering practices and customs, hone personal and professional skills and habits and broaden perspectives. The program awards Technion credit for professional internships. It is open to qualified undergraduates from the second year and above with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students can be accredited up to 3 credits, for a minimum of 200 hours over a period of 8-12 weeks. Please note that the internships are unpaid positions.
Accreditation: Upon successful completion of their chosen course(s) and/or internship, students will be awarded a commensurate number of Technion credits.

Why Israel
Israel has the highest concentration of high-tech companies anywhere in the world outside Silicon Valley. Haifa is the third-largest city in the State of Israel after Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and it is known for having some of the best beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. Haifa is also home to MATAM, the largest and oldest business park in Israel, which hosts a large number of Israeli and international high-tech companies, such as Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, Google, Yahoo, Wix, and Philips.
Housing
Technion International will provide housing in Technion dorms, according to availability. If you are interested in doing an internship prior to the commencement of the course, then you will need to arrange accommodations on your own. Technion international will be happy to assist in finding appropriate housing.
Social and Cultural Activities
To enrich the learning experience, students will be invited to participate in social and cultural activities, both on and off-campus, such as lectures and trips, including industry visits and tours to major Israeli tourist attractions. Students will also visit cutting-edge laboratories and meet Technion faculty, and they will engage with lunchtime speakers providing in-depth exposure to Israeli and Middle Eastern culture and history. Campus social activities are led by Technion International’s experienced student guides.
Support & Assistance
Technion International trains student guides to assist visiting students with a wide range of questions and issues. The Technion International team also organizes special events, trips and activities open to all international students on campus, that enrich their study experiences in Israel.

GPA of 80/3.0 and above
Finished second year of undergraduate studies

English Proficiency
Applicants are required to demonstrate English proficiency prior to enrollment. Applicants from countries where English is not the primary language may be required to undergo a brief interview to assess their level of English.
Health Insurance
All Technion International students MUST have full Israeli health insurance coverage while in Israel. We recommend Harel / Yedidim Medical Insurance.
Prestige Policy with Harel Clinics – You receive Harel Health Services with doctors under the agreement with Harel in clinics around Haifa and throughout the country. The insurance does not cover routine checkups. The insurance cost is $ 2.49 USD per day up to the age of 39.
**The policy does not cover pre-existing medical conditions. There is coverage for the worsening of pre-existing conditions up to $ 1,000 USD.
Housing
Housing during the summer program is guaranteed during the period of the course (dates to be announced). Technion International will arrange a hostel for you outside of the Technion campus. If you are interested in doing an internship prior to the commencement of the course, then you will need to arrange accommodations on your own. Technion international will be happy to assist and recommend a hostel for you.
