Advanced Graphic Design takes a multi-disciplinary approach to incorporating theoretical and practical skills necessary for a solid foundation with the objective of the creation of a final project. Students will use the cultural and architectural heritage of Florence of the past and present as their inspiration to utilize and transform their experience and ideas into a unique work.
This is an advanced course, participants should have a basic foundation in the four main components of the courses and should be motivated to work independently and under deadlines. Applicants need to show strong motivation and the ability to work in groups.ability to work in groups.
Structure and methodology
This course meets from Monday to Friday on a full time basis (morning and afternoon) the course has a duration of 75 hours spread over 3 weeks. During the program students will acquire the historical and modern fundamentals of Italian graphic design The final project will consist in the idealization of a “new Museum for Florence”, based on the student’s research, personal impression of the city and the things one would like the town to showcase to the world. The project consists in naming, branding, creation of an info-graphic and captioning system, and in promoting this new conceptual Museum. Given the specificity of the subject and the great avail of world-famous museums in Florence, the task will be followed up to the tiniest detail. The final project will be a composition and presentation of each project realized during the summer program.
