Study abroad programme at South Cheshire College and West Cheshire College.
This is an exciting opportunity for students aged 15-19 years old to have a taster of college education at one of the most innovative colleges in the UK. International education will provide you with an enriching and rewarding experience that will remain with you for the rest of your life. You will learn new skills, experience new cultures and your mind will be opened up to the wide world in which we live. At South Cheshire College and West Cheshire College, two newly merged top performing Further Education Colleges, bespoke programmes of study are offered to overseas students, tailor-made to suit each individual; from short two week stays to whole year programmes.
We can work with your school or college to provide you with a meaningful study programme which could include some English language tuition, a selection of units from traditional ‘A’ Level courses, such as Maths, Science, Economics, History, Sociology, Media, and/or a selection of units from Diploma courses, such as Business Studies, I.T., Travel and Tourism, Engineering, etc.
Once completed you can take the knowledge and skills gained back to your school/college for additional accreditation and enhance your profile for future education and employment both at home and abroad. You can spend from as little as two weeks to a full academic year at one or more of our campuses in Cheshire. Your stay will be based at one of our college campuses in either Crewe, famous for its railway industry and the prestigious Bentley Motor Company.
The apprentices from Bentley Motors have dedicated space within the Crewe campus where they undertake part of their training; or Chester, a city founded as a Roman fortress in the 1st century A.D., known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone. In the old city, the Rows is a shopping district distinguished by 2-level covered arcades and Tudor-style half-timber buildings. A Roman amphitheatre, with ongoing excavations, lies just outside the old city's walls and inside the imposing cathedral stands contrasts with the modern horse race course which draws vast crowds for race days throughout the year.
Your stay will also include the opportunity to join other international groups when they visit cities within the UK, such as the historic and beautiful Chester,York, Oxford and Cambridge along with cultural and shopping centres such as Liverpool, Manchester and London.
We would also offer you the opportunity of staying with a carefully selected host family depending on your place of study as well as the opportunity to stay at Olive Grove in Nantwich, halls of residence for our full-time students studying at our Crewe Campus.
