For international students who wish to spend one semester in Vic at the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia, studying a pre-established Engineering Study Abroad programme as an integrated part of their home studies. The programme consists of 5 courses (30 ECTS) which have a strong practical element, but they also cover the theoretical background needed to work on real case studies.
Data Structures and Algorithms (C#)
The key to efficient computer programming is acquiring a sound knowledge of data structures and algorithms and using it to solve real-world problems. The design of data structures and the use of methods to manipulate different data structures will allow you to find solutions to practical problems. The course also focuses on using algorithms and how to implement them in searching and sorting data structures.

Engineers require knowledge of numerical analysis to be able to solve real-world complex numerical tasks in computing. This course is a mixture of mathematics and computing which will be used to examine tools for numerical analysis. It includes solving non-linear equations, interpolation, numerical differentiation and integration, differential equations, and solving linear systems of equations.

The mechanics of liquids, gases, and plasmas either in motion (dynamic) or at rest (static) have important engineering applications, for example, in pumps, fans, turbines, airplanes, ships engines, and filters. In this course, you will study fluids and pressure distribution, basic laws of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and properties of fluids. You will understand thermodynamic and fluid systems by examining examples of problems and applying your knowledge to solving fluid and heat transmission problems.

By examining data from samples inferential statistics allow us to make generalizations about a population. This course introduces you to the statistical inference methods to use with numerical and categorical data. You will learn about fundamental concepts such as probability and hypothesis tests and how to critically analyze results and report them in a comprehensible way to people from diverse fields. You will be guided through the installation and use of the software through which you will analyze examples of data.

Oriented-Object Programming (C#)
This course builds on the fundamentals of programming from a methodological point of view to acquire more advanced programming skills. You will familiarize yourself with an object-oriented methodology to deal with complex problems and generate robust and reusable code. You will learn about modular programming, classes, and objects, methods, inheritance and entry, and exit, and work with Python language from the perspective of object orientation.

For acceptance on a Study Abroad program you need to:
Talk to your Academic Coordinator or International Office at home university
Be currently enrolled at a higher education institution or be a university graduate
Have sufficient ability in the program’s language of instruction (Level B2 for courses taught in English)
You should submit the following documents:
A certificate showing that you are currently enrolled at a higher education institution or that you hold a university degree
A certificate of English (not required for students whose mother tongue is English)
Proof of medical and accident insurance cover

1. Fill in the Application form. Please send an email including the following documents:
Document confirming your higher education institution enrolment or degree
English language certificate
2. When we receive your application form, we will check that you meet the requirements for the course and contact you by email.
3. Once you have been accepted on the course, we will send instructions on how to enrol for the program.
4. When you have paid the fees, we will send you a letter of acceptance so you can apply for a visa, if necessary.
5. At least one month before the course is due to start you should send a copy of your visa and proof of medical and accident insurance cover.
