Our courses give you the chance to learn Ukrainian using tried, tested and proven learning methods. We provide cost effective tutoring for anyone who wants to learn how to speak Ukrainian fluently.

Courses are taught by certified teachers of Ukrainian as a foreign language. Our teachers are native speakers who use progressive methods of teaching the Ukrainian language. Our teachers, apart from teaching, are involved in developing learning methods and scientific research at universities throughout Ukraine.

Our highly individualised courses, enable students to study the Ukrainian language in a fast and effective way while in a warm and friendly environment. Language programs are designed using the most modern technologies and educational resources. Students study the language required in every day situations.

Small class sizes allow your teachers to give you the individual attention you need.

Courses

School of Ukrainian Language and Culture UCU offers non-intensive courses in Ukrainian for foreign students consisting of 90, 60 or 30 academic hours. Our programs start in October (I semester) and February (II semester). We offer our students some flexibility in their studies. They have an option to join the course after its official commencement or to complete the program before its official closing.

The scope of the course is focused on general command of Ukrainian, development of all linguistic competences (speaking, reading, listening and writing), and advancement of grammatical and vocabulary competence.

We offer:

  • Qualified native-speaking teachers who have years of extensive training in teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language.
  • Small class sizes. All language classes are taught in Ukrainian! Maximum number of participants in a language class is 6 students.
  • Opportunity to obtain 4 ECTS credit points for participation in the entire course on passing the final test
  • Diploma and certificate of completion of a course at the Ukrainian Catholic University

On the first day of the program participants are tested to be placed in the appropriate level. Level changes and group transfers are possible within two to three days after the placement test. Late transfers require consultation with the Academic Director of the Courses.

All language classes are taught in Ukrainian! Maximum number of participants in a language class: 6 students.

  • 10 hours/ $13 per lesson /$130 total
  • 30 hours/ $12,5 per lesson /$375 total
  • 60 hours/ $12 per lesson /$720 total
  • 100 hours/ $11 per lesson /$1100 total

Group courses

Levels: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced

  • 10 hours/ $100 total
  • 16 hours/ $160 total
  • 24 hours/ $216 total
  • 32 hours/ $256 total
  • 40 hours/ $320 total
  • 48 hours/ $336 total
  • 60 hours/ $360 total

  • Please complete the APPLICATION FORM and send it to us by email: studyukrainian@ucu.edu.ua
  • Attach your formal photo (passport size)
  • Wait for the official acceptance from us (within 3-5 days; we may ask you for some extra documentation)
  • Pay the Registration fee (within 10 working days from the application acceptance)

Who is eligible?

  • Undergraduate students of all majors (studying for BA degree) interested in Ukrainian studies, culture and heritage.
  • Postgraduate students of all majors (studying for Master’s degree) interested in Ukrainian studies, culture and heritage.
  • Adults, college students, non-students, and seniors between the ages of 17 and 60 are also eligible.

Registration ends 2 weeks before course starts.
