How is it?
Half of the course workload is focused on projects, so the course presents the student with the main areas of professional activity: commercial design (retail design), ephemeris (scenography, exhibitions and events) and residential projects.
Interior design can play a crucial role in contemporary cities. Therefore, it is necessary to respond to the continuous functional transformation of the constructed spaces, developing solutions and flexible spaces. In addition, the market seeks professionals with mastery of the scale of the interiors, their specificities, their processes and tools. That is, professionals with the ability to understand and intervene in environments, with a distinct approach to architecture.
The IED Rio interior design course
When talking about Interior Design to develop harmonious and functional spaces, decoration is not enough.
Therefore, the course promotes an initial and comprehensive contact with the universe of interior design, with emphasis on practical classes and project development.
During half the course, the student will be in direct contact with the market through real briefings. In addition, counts on comb the accompaniment of professionals of the area.
With a team of teachers trained by professionals in the field, the course provides the exchange of experiences and an approximation with the reality of the market. Throughout the course, the student is also familiarized with the discipline's own vocabulary and with the important issues to think about the production of interior design today. In addition, the student learns processes and tools involved in the development of projects of harmonic and functional environments, and also expands his repertoire of solutions and architectural and visual references.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to intervene in different environments in a functional way, acting in areas such as scenography, commercial and residential projects.
To help you achieve your professional goals, the student still has the opportunity to meet the market outside Brazil, through a 40-hour International Module at the IED Italy or IED Spain venues.
The four modules of the course are organized in a sequence that follows a subtle but non-eliminatory linearity, and the student may eventually lock one of the modules and take the course at a later time.
- MODULE 1
More introductory, the first module is dedicated to the representation and design tools of a smaller scale project (stand);
- MODULE 2
In the second module, the student is introduced to the study of materials, furniture and the creation of a residential space;
- MODULE 3
The third module is dedicated to the lighting and design of a commercial space;
- MODULE 4
In the last module, the student concentrates questions regarding the professional practice, setting (or decoration) of spaces and the project for spaces of collective use.
The course has exceeded all my expectations! I made a wonderful network, received a lot of information, a lot of content. The course stimulates and challenges you to create and produce all the time. Having contact with professionals who are working in the market was very enriching and made an incredible difference, because it gave me updated information, opened my head to many ideas. Today I leave the IED with a company set up with two members that I met in the course, we are in the market already with some projects in the baggage. I have a lot to thank teachers and coordinators. The course changed my life.
