What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed? The focus of AQA AS Business is on small to medium-sized businesses operating within national markets. It covers the issues involved in a business start-up, such as research and planning, as well as the factors that determine success. It considers how established businesses might improve their effectiveness by making tactical decisions throughout the business. A Level Business builds on the AS units by considering more complex business scenarios and focusing on strategy. The course will be taught by the use of small group work, self-directed research and presentation, class discussion and lectures. All units taught in year one are assessed across two papers at the end of the year. Paper 1 is assessed through multiple choice questions, short answer questions and mini case study data response questions. This course is available in Boston. Successful completion of the course could also lead to progress onto the College's University Level courses. You could study the HNC/HND in Business, Travel and Tourism Management on your doorstep and at up to half the cost of university fees. What will I do? The Diploma is gained by achieving 24 Level 3 credits in Business. You will also choose 2 more main subjects to gain 15 credits. These subjects included Law, Maths and Computing. The A Level programme is studied at Level 3 over a two year period. You will study in a traditional way where your final grades will be based on end of year exams.
