- A Level
- Examining Board: EDEXCEL
If Maths is your main subject you will be encouraged to do Further Maths which gives you greater depth and breadth. Put simply, you do the Maths A Level course complete in your first year (so you can take it away as an A Level in one year) and then you do further units. At the end of the second year, having successfully completed the further units, you will attain two A Levels – Maths and Further Maths.
You can even get a third A Level called Further Mathematics (Additional)!
Here are some of the topic areas we cover in addition to Maths:
- Differential equations
- Polar co-ordinates
- Complex numbers
- More advanced statistics and mechanics
I enjoy Maths, which is imperative if you plan on taking this subject and I believe that it will give me a better chance of getting into a good university. The teachers are great as they help you get into the understanding of the subject rather than just knowing what the answer is.
