Intensive English Program (IEP)

General

Program Description

The Intensive English Programme is designed to empower students to use English socially, for study and for work. A skills-based syllabus is employed where listening, speaking, reading and writing are equally weighed. There are twenty one hours of classes spread over 10 (ten) weeks to ensure that learners benefit from the total hours allocated per term.

Curriculum

IEP’s curriculum is theme based and most of the readings, vocabulary and class discussions are centered on the topic of the week. However, to this there is an added focus on each of the macro-skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, as well as a clear progression in grammar through the Beginner/Elementary level to Intermediate/Upper Intermediate to Advanced. Learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom. Classes are small and students are given individual attention by experienced tutors.
