Background

Both the work and the climate is changing in the Arctic regions. Workers have to adapt to new occupations and migratory workers have to adapt to a new environment and a new climate as well. In spite of global warming, cold stress will remain a special risk in Arctic work, together with long distances and huge seasonal variation in light. There are however common and industrial branch specific solutions for maintaining well-being, health and safety in the Arctic.
