Why Hong Kong?
Intern in a unique, bustling metropolis situated on the Pearl River Delta. Hong Kong is a blend of the natural—high peaks, harbors, and islands—and the architectural. As a former British colony and now a Special Administrative Region of China, Hong Kong is also a fusion of cultures, languages, and cuisines.
An IES Internship in Hong Kong develops your professional skills, your ability to communicate across cultures, and provides substantive work experience to jumpstart your career in today’s competitive job market.
You’ll be guaranteed an unpaid placement at a local business or organization, where you’ll work for up to 40 hours a week. We will work with you to find the closest placement match between your professional and personal goals with what’s available in Hong Kong.
Before you depart, we work with you to fine-tune your résumé, perfect your cover letter, and hone your communication and interview skills as we prepare you for working in a new cultural environment.
When you arrive, the staff in Hong Kong will welcome you for orientation, featuring an introduction to the city including housing, commuting, and professional and cultural expectations.
