History is fascinating. You can develop your own ideas, examine historical issues and engage in debates. You will analyse sources critically, make comparative judgements and test your opinions.

This A Level course will be offered as a two year programme.

Topics covered include America and the Vietnam war

During the first year you will study Tsarist and Communist Russia, 1855–1964.

In the upper sixth you will complete a study of British history between 1951 and 2007, with a focus on the domestic political situation and the economic and social context.

An important part of your second year is the study of c100 years of the history of the British Empire which you will use as a basis for your coursework extended essay of c3500 words.

Very good, informative and fun lessons. History is always a subject to be looked forward to.

A Level History (Late Modern) student
