History is fascinating. You can develop your own ideas, examine historical issues and engage in debates. You will analyse sources critically, make comparative judgements and test your opinions.
Here are some of the topic areas we cover:
During the first year you will study Spain in the Age of Discovery, 1469–1598.
In the second year you will complete a study of Religious Conflict and the Church in England, c1529-c1570.
An important part of your second year is the study of c100 years of the history of the Portuguese Empire including the voyages of Henry the Navigator and Vasco Da Gama.
This A Level course is only offered as a two year programme.
The Tudors is really interesting and the teaching is fantastic. I enjoy the topics we are styudying and the teaching if fun and interactive.
