Program Description
This course is for musicians and music makers who want to develop their creativity, theoretical understanding as well as the practical skills to compose, record and produce music and sound for TV, Film and the wider media industry. This brand new course is taught at dBs Music’s premier training centre in Camborne, Cornwall and awarded by Plymouth University. As with all dBs Music centres, students will find industry experienced staff, excellent equipment and a relaxed learning environment.
Production Techniques
During this course you will cover the areas of sequencing, audio engineering, audio editing, mixing and production techniques. You’ll be using and mastering leading software tools including Logic, Pro Tools and Ableton.
Specific Film Techniques
You will develop abilities within all the specialist audio production and post-production areas of sound design, sound effects (SFX), dialog replacement (ADR), Foley and location sound.
Hands On
Whilst you will cover a range of relevant academic topics this is very much a hands-on course. And dBs Music always provides the very best kit. Upon completion you will have had extensive experience on industry standard gear and be well prepared for your first professional projects.
Entry Requirements
This course is for the incredibly focused and ambitious student who wants to enter the industry at the highest level. The minimum entry requirement for applicants with A levels/AS levels/ BTEC is 120 UCAS points plus a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English. Other similar qualifications may be considered on an individual basis.
