Join us for a 4-week practical training program in hands-on sustainable engineering, systems design, and cooperative living. We’ll be learning about designing, building and running of sustainable projects while linking together ecological, social, economic and cultural aspects into a unified whole. We’ll develop skills through hands-on work in our environmental education center, organic gardens, and alternative/natural building projects. We live in the EcoCampus – beautiful handcrafted domes – in Kibbutz Lotan, a desert oasis. At the end of the course, participants receive an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certification.

The Green Apprenticeship Extension Week

The Green Apprenticeship course is a 4-week intensive hands-on training integrating organic agriculture, natural building, alternative technologies, community living & permaculture design. Many students leave hungry for more so we are now offering a unique opportunity to stay for an extra week at the end of the course and choose from many possibilities how to further your personal training experience. You choose the subjects and the schedule; we help mentor each person personally.

If there was something on the course that you loved or were intrigued by, now is the chance to experiment, build and gain a deeper understanding and confidence needed to go it alone. Projects could include building a solar oven, a wooden container garden, simple mud structure, palette garden, or working on mud sculptural elements. Or spend the time practicing until perfect mud plastering or making garden beds so that you know you are ready to take it home with you.

You could also try your hand at educating others -- learn how to give educational tours in the Center for Creative Ecology, or run your own workshops while getting experience in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

You can take the opportunity to travel and explore more of the area, visiting different ecological projects or going on hikes into the breathtaking beautiful wild desert.

We are here to help you tailor the Green Apprentice Extension Week into something that most benefits your needs.

The GA extension week costs 1500 NIS including accommodation in the Eco Campus straw bale mud plastered domes and full board.
