What is a graduate pathway in design studies? It’s a program of study that teaches students how to design the world around them. Participants can learn the skills and theory behind designing clothing, packages, logos, or even living room layouts. Design students generally take a wide range of courses such as industrial and product design, fashion design, illustration, commercial photography, visual communications, and graphic design.

Design students can learn a number of skills valuable for work in the design field, including thinking creatively and inventing new ideas. They can also learn skills like effective time management, which can be helpful in any career path.

The cost of a graduate pathway program can vary between institutions, with courses typically lasting anywhere from three months to a full year. For prospective students, doing thorough research of the school and program beforehand can save them time later.

A graduate pathway in design can eventually lead to a number of different design-related careers. These can include working as a graphic designer, photographer, interior designer, art director, user experience designer, multimedia artist, film and video editor, illustrator, advertising manager, animator, fashion designer, professor of design, decorator, high school instructor, brand manager, and event planner.

Graduate pathway courses are offered the world over. In fact, many universities or other institutions offer these courses in nearly every country. If you can’t attend one, there are online options as well.
