What are the progression requirements?

After successfully completing the Pathway program and any additional requirements, you can enter an OSU graduate program. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. You must meet the following Oregon State University Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) overall score of 301 with 146 in the verbal section and 3.0 in the analytical writing section

1-TERM PATHWAY

Academic Requirements:

  • 3.0 GPA cumulative in all Pathway courses and
  • C (or Pass) or higher grades in all Pathway courses

Language Requirements:

  • None

3-TERM PATHWAY

Academic Requirements:

  • B or higher grades in ALS 162 and WR 327 OR
  • TOEFL iBT 91 (18 subscores) (PBT 575) OR
  • IELTS 7.0

Language Requirements:

  • 3.0 GPA cumulative for the last 90 quarter credits (60 semester credits) and
  • 3.0 GPA cumulative in all Pathway courses and
  • C (or Pass) or higher grades in all Pathway courses

Standardized Test Requirements:

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) overall score of 301 with 146 in the verbal section and 3.0 in the analytical writing section

Academic: 1-Term Pathway: Chemical engineering degree with 3.0 GPA overall OR in final two years of study; GRE scores of 301 with min. 146 V, 3 AW

3-Term Pathway: Chemical engineering degree with 2.75 GPA overall AND in final year of study

English language: 1-Term Pathway: TOEFL 80 (18 subscores) or IELTS 6.5 (5.5 subscores) or Academic English Level 6 (B grades in all classes)

3-Term Pathway: TOEFL 70 (PBT 525) or IELTS 6.0 or Password overall level 7 or Academic English Level 5 (C grades in all classes)
