In its 17th year, the Graduate Marketing Certificate Program (GMCP) at SMU Cox offers participants a unique opportunity for personal and professional development. The GMCP, designed for people who want to increase their marketing skills and gain exposure to the latest marketing advances and trends, provides professionals with the tools to remain marketable in an ever-changing business world. Classes for the the upcoming program start on Monday, September 11, 2006.
The SMU Cox Graduate Marketing Certificate Program is unlike anything offered in executive education in the
Dallas/Fort Worth area. The program is differentiated by its integration of academic and hands-on learning. Classes are taught through a combination of methods, including the use of an MBA-level marketing textbook, case studies, team projects, and classroom discussions. We draw from the best of the Cox faculty and community business leaders to instruct GMCP courses. All participants have access to instructors and the program director to answer questions and provide insights. Many companies enroll their emerging leaders annually in the GMCP for continual development. The Cox GMCP has bolstered the skills, savvy, and confidence of many professionals inside and outside the field of marketing; see how we can make a difference for you.
Each trimester consists of seven sessions, which meet on Monday evenings from 6:30–9:20 p.m. The course may be taken for a letter grade, or you may select the pass/fail option.

Cox\'s GMCP has bolstered the skills, savvy, and confidence of many professionals inside and outside the field of marketing. The program is ideal for individuals interested in updating their knowledge, and provides the tools necessary to remain marketable in an ever-changing business world. The program also is valuable to companies considering a corporate reorganization or regrouping of departments. It can be used to move a group of people with diverse skills and experiences in the same direction, creating a common knowledge base for a department or an organization.
One company recently enrolled 10 participants in the GMCP, using the program to create a more strategic mindset for their newly centralized marketing function. The company wanted to give employees with creative marketing backgrounds a strategic point of view, while also offering seasoned professionals a fresh approach to marketing. The common knowledge base acquired through Cox\'s GMCP helped the group of employees to develop cohesive marketing plans and create a new strategic vision for the company.
